The Split family uses a compound twist to manipulate a simple remnant of the material as a starting
point. They begin with the minimalist stool as the basic family element. Split chair LOW,
incorporating a secondary seat and back as a ‘melted’ amorphic form, creates an unexpectedly
familiar image of a strawberry’s & cream composition. Split chair HIGH, references the stiff upright
Gothic refectory chair as the antithesis of the fluid base.
